Straight or curved: practical or creative

A straight, long head line is associated with logical thinking, analysis, and pragmatism: people who decide with data. A line that curves downward, toward the Mount of the Moon, suggests imagination, intuition, and creative thinking. Many hands show a middle point: a practical mind with flashes of creativity.

The start: joined to or separated from the life line

When the head line begins joined to the life line, tradition reads it as a prudent personality that matures into independence over time. If it begins separated, it suggests an independent mind from early on, with its own initiative. A very wide gap between the two is associated with boldness and a taste for calculated risk.

    Length: concentration and mental reach

A head line crossing the entire palm indicates great concentration and a mind that delves deeply into subjects. A shorter line does not mean less intelligence: it is interpreted as an agile mind that prefers direct action and learns by doing, without dwelling too long on theory.

    Markings and changes of direction

Islands or breaks in the head line are read as periods of doubt or intellectual reorientation: changes of career, studies, or perspective. A fork at the end, called the 'writer's fork', is considered a sign of mental versatility: the ability to see the same problem from two angles.
