Left hand vs right hand: which hand to read

One of the first questions in any reading is: which hand is read? The traditional answer is both, because each one tells a different part of your story.

    The left hand: your potential

In palmistry tradition, the left hand represents the innate: the dispositions, talents, and patterns you arrived with. It is the starting point, the base material of your personality. Reading it is looking at the map you were born with, before decisions and circumstances traced their own course.

    The right hand: your path

The right hand reflects what has been built: what you have done with that potential, your decisions, your current expression, and your personal evolution. If the left is the original map, the right is the updated map, with the detours, shortcuts, and new routes your life has drawn.

    The comparative reading

The most revealing part of palmistry is not each hand separately, but the comparison between them. Large differences between the two hands suggest a life of intense transformation; similar hands, a trajectory faithful to one's original dispositions. That is why complete analyses always include both hands.

    What about left-handed people?

Some schools reverse the scheme for left-handed people (the dominant hand as 'path' and the non-dominant as 'potential'), while others keep the classic left-right reading for everyone. In modern practice, what matters is the comparison: one hand shows the starting point and the other the journey, whatever your handedness.

Compare your two hands with the complete analysis: left and right interpreted together.
